The Bolero Association was formed in 1995 by a group of interested cross industry companies following the successful testing of an original pilot project. The Association objectives are to: ensure that the Bolero System meets its members business needs and that other trade related services are developed to be consistent with these services. act as the focal point for the ‘Bolero community’ for issues related to electronic business practice in international trade. encourage and promote international standards for electronic commerce. ensure a secure legal framework within which the traditional logistics documentation requirements can be handled electronically without changing the balance of risk between the parties. liaise with national and international administrations to ensure that their business needs are fully considered in the development of the new legal and technical infrastructure for the trade.
